This is a picture taken on the day Flo turned 18, which is 1,5 months after she was diagnosed with cancer. The six weeks between her diagnosis and this moment, she fully focussed on healing through healthy food and meditation. This picture takes us back to a few days before Flo started with the chemo. Flo remembers this period of time showing her to let go of control, allowing to be helped and to learn to cooperate with, in this case, the doctors. It showed her how beautiful it is to let others help you and to learn that you don’t have to do this on your own.
For Jules too, this was a period of cooperation, mainly with family and friends. Since the process changed every day, sometimes even every hour, the situation required us to fully surrender and let go of control. It was the ultimate challenge to go live by the day, and let go of all expectations, since you never knew (and know) what might happen. We wanted to share this experience because we felt the resemblance between May 2018 and now. Since the cancer process we already noticed that these lessons are always relevant, and the period we are in right now is of course an enlargement of how important it is to stay connected with each other, to live without expectations and to see what the day brings us.
